Ashley Fuchs integrates multiple design backgrounds in her work to encourage a multidisciplinary connection to place and locality. Having a background in both architecture and graphic design, her design goals are to find a way to merge the spatial qualities of architecture design with the obtainable design scale that graphic design offers. The ability to find the ultimate connection between the two design fields is her continued goal in professional development. She approaches research through pursuing design investigations that encourage active participation. Focused on mapping and place-making, she is interested in the relationship of the individual with their city and aims to visualize communal interactions that define a collectiveness.
