Ceramics at MSU

The School of Art offers state of the art facilities for BFA/BA undergraduate study. The 3,400 square foot undergraduate studio is located Haynes Hall, the home for the School of Art. Facilities include electric and kick wheels, slab roller, extruder, plaster mixing room, clay and glaze lab with spraybooth, ball mill, and a kiln room with two Blaauw gas kilns, one Bailey gas kiln, five electric kilns, raku, salt/soda gas and wood fire kilns.

 

Ceramic facilities at the graduate studios include electric pottery wheels, a slab roller, a material processing area with a hammermill, three electric kilns, a gas soda kiln, a small wood kiln, and a large train/anagama wood kiln. Undergraduates have controlled access to these facilities.
